Happy Diwali !!!
I complete 4 years at my first job today @ Wipro ...
Just dug out the short ode which I had composed when I completed 3 years @ Wipro :It goes like this (nothin much has changed actually in the last 1 year except for the act that my no. of batchmates still in Wipro has further come down )
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Comrades
Awaken , Arise , pat your backs for you have completed a task which many lesser mortals were unable to accomplish .
A task which is by no means fait accompli ....
A task which shook the best of them , who reeled under the pressure and succumbed to the fissure.
But you belong to the elite team which comprises of members no less than superheroes ,
- the cadre which doesnt care about fear. The earth shuddered , the sky roared , but you went on unperturbed ....
barrage of stones , fussilade of problems , ah but you didnt bat an eyelid ....
Time was forever short , cooperation was forever sought , you didnt care a nought ....
Milestones went past one after the another , beleagured companions who promised that they would come along deserted you in the middle , but you marched on ....
Unmindful of woes, Blind to 'no' s ....
And you finally reach this stage , after what seems to be an age ....
but the road doesnt stop here , but whats there to fear ?
When 3 have gone by ........ 25 more would fly ..........
and if you are still thinking whats all this poetic writeup for and what am i referring to , lemme salute you the superheroes , the survivors and say
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HEY Cheers , U'V completed 3 years in Wipro !!!

IndiPOP !!!
Indipop - sounds a familiar bell ?
From Wikipedia - Indian pop music, often known as Indian-Pop, Hindi Pop, Indipop or Indi-pop, is based on an amalgamation of Indian folk and classical music, and modern beats from different parts of the world
Well the entire genre is non existent today - at least for me.
I just feel its met a premature end , mainly at the hands of remixes.
Where did those songs go ?
So many classics .... I cant think of even a single good one which has come in the last 2 years.
I remember Magnasound promoting most of these before it went bankrupt.
Some of my fav ones were :
Dhuan Dhuan - Vikas Bhalla
A lot of them from Daler Mehndi
Lucky Ali vow - all his songs :)
Kamal Khan , Pankaj Udhas (wonder why no albums of his come now)
A lot of good ones came from Sonu Nigam too - Tu , Teri haan haan , Hari mere ghar ko
Tanha Dil - Shaan
Breathless - Shankar Mahadevan
Maaeri _ Euphoria
Dooba Dooba - Silk Route
was listening to a whole lot of them in youtube today :)
Feel Real nostalgic !!!

Change(S) !!!
I want changes in my life ... want to come out of the usual routines.
Or so I think.
But when I get the same changes , I resist them.
Damn , why am I so confused in life ?

2 years have rolled by
Two years have rolled by dude ... since you left us.
Still there is barely a single day which passes without me thinking of you atleast once
You have been associated with me all my school life - PSBB/Alpha , a lot of my college life and my stint in Wipro CDC.
My memories are just incomplete without you.
I still havent met your parents. I dont know when I would.
I dont know how to face them da.
We all have our cocoons - cocoons of comfort. We dont want to leave them .
We are made to believe Life is so rosy and we live most of our lives under this same made-to-believe impression ... I dont want to shake it. I dont want to face the truth.
and i have the liberty to stay in my cocoon of comfort. Friends have that liberty ...
its only parents who dont.
Amen.

Life's turning 360 degrees
My last 5 years have taught me all kinds of lessons . I am coming out of it
quite experienced (and literally white-haired .. first few strands popping up)
I have been subjected to almost all sorts of emotions one could keep his hand on..........
I sometimes feel like a recipe being cooked in God's kitchen . Its like put some spice , boil for 2 mins , now cool it then add sugar ......
Oh yeah just that spices are my emotions. My Luck , God wants to experiment on his new dish with me :)
One major lesson which finally seems to make sense to me is that Plans dont work .... never do. Keep plans , keep backup plans , do contigency planning and still I bet it you have a task at hand .... you got to do something real time to get things working
(i remember that famous quote which goes something like: "God must be laughing when he listens to your future plans" ... when you dont know whats gonna happen next minute , we plan for our lifetime!!!)
Whose idea was it by the way to have short term / long term goals ?
Goals for what ? To kind of plan things in advance ...prepare milestones , goals , objectives?
And then fail to achieve them ......
Or succeed but actually not be happy ? And say This is not what I wanted or This is just not enough.
Are we more obsessed in the ritual to get "there" , the process ? Are we losing the real thing ?
Should we be disappointed that we lost out on our on some short term goal / some step to get there ?
Or realize that this is not the only way to get "there" ? Or getting to this intermediate step was never necessary ?
Now what does "getting there" mean ? Well it depends on people ? I dont think so.
"Getting there" here means money ? Is money the goal of your life ? NO , never you are referring to the happiness which money can possibly get you. Money is not the goal , its an intermediate step which you believe will lead you to the final goal - happiness.e
"Getting there" means fame ? So you want to be famous ? Why ? Because it makes you feel good . It makes you feel happy dude. Hey so again fame is not the goal -> happiness is the goal. And all the while you thought being famous is your goal. Naah.
My point is simple. "Getting there" holds the same meaning for everyone. Happiness and peace. And thats what I got to aim for ? Why should I aim for any intermediate thing ? Why higher studies ? Why a job with a better pay packet ? Why anything ? Why not straight happiness .... we think happiness has pre requisites -money , fame . No Sir , it doesnt have . It lives in the simplest of things , simplest of places - We dont see it because we are never actually looking for it.
To cut it short: I am gonna have only one goal - short term/long term whatever be it. You got it. "Happiness"
Note1: Well there are thousands of people who vouch their success is due to their meticulous planning. Must be true ... just that we mortals are not capable of it :). But then its also about do I really want to do that ? The greatest and the most interesting part about life is its surprise element , its uncertainity ? Then why we are we hell bent to spoil the fun with all planning ? Why try to solve it like a puzzle at all - it was never meant to be solved ? Just plain lie back and watch it unfold , unravel ... the vortex of Maya.
Note2: Admitted ,this post is Greek and latin at times ? Its more of a "self-rhetoric" types , so I wont be surpised if you dont understand parts of it.

1 month hiatus !!!
I am back after my short hiatus...
Its been quite an eventful period .
First my 1 week shutdown @ office which left us with no option but to take 5 days off during the last week of June.
I make it sound pretty "forced" and unfortunate. Well no , most of us loved it . Not too often , are we are encouraged to
take 5 days off , leave alone allowed. Taking 5 days off twice a year is in more ways a perk.
I did spend most of it in Chennnai. Doing nothing much except sleeping and eating ...
Only to come back to face a lot of pending work @ office !!!
Well Life !!!

Mumbai Meri Jaan
This has been one movie which I have been wanting to see for a long time and I finally happened to see it yesterday ...
This movie makes me think on different lines .... all at once
To its credit , this movie has managed to do something which very few movies have been able to do - make the audience feel the pain.
At the end of the movie , I really felt that I was in Mumbai during the blasts. I could feel what it would have been to be there the week after the blasts.
I remember the 11th of July 2006 pretty well actually , that was the eve of my 23rd birthday (and my first in Bangalore). Just before leaving for home , I came to hear about this...... It shook me for a moment ....a kind of eerie feeling lingering for a couple of hours ...
But then it was life as usual .... (probably all the more because as it was bday and there were distractions)
I just wonder if I would have felt the same if I was in Mumbai or anywhere else up North ...
Is the South relatively immune from this ? No , not in terms of security but in terms of the emotional trauma which citizens of a city go through.
To restructure this question , why didnt I feel this same sort of pain (when I saw this movie) when these incidents happened ? Why do I need a movie to realize this ?
South has had its own share of terrorist strikes , but none of them as savage as the ones up North. So do we feel safe ?
Well I dont know ... might just be my imagination.
Thinking on different lines , I thought Mumbai Meri jaan has been quite unique in the sense that there have been a lot of movies on this topic - but this one from Nishikant Kamat really looks at it in a different way - how the aam junta feels , how they reacts to an incident like this ...
And ofcourse with a startcast with the likes of Madhavan, Irfan Khan , KayKay , Soha Ali Khan , you cant be disappointed. But someone who really struck me was Paresh Rawal.
This man is awesome ... the way he effortlessly plays this role of Tukaram patil -> he really touches your heart - Especially his farewell speech .......
